Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sydney Cigar Club Pty Ltd , trading as Sydney Cigar Club, handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect and why

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and date of birth. We use this information to verify that you are an adult (we are legally required to sell only to persons 18 and over), to fulfil and deliver your order, to provide a tax invoice, and to contact you about your order. When you use our contact form we collect the details you submit so we can respond.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your details for marketing unless you have expressly asked us to contact you.

Payments

We accept payment by PayID or bank transfer. We never ask for, collect or store card numbers, and no card processor is currently involved. Payments are visible to us only as ordinary incoming transfers referenced to your order number. Our website includes a live-chat widget (Zoho SalesIQ); chat conversations are processed by Zoho to provide customer support.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with the service providers who help us operate: shipping carriers (name, address, phone for delivery), our email delivery provider (your email address and order details, to send confirmations), our website host, and our form provider (contact form submissions). They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires it — for example, records demonstrating age verification for tobacco sales.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our providers (website hosting, email delivery and form handling) store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Storage and security

The site is served over HTTPS. Your cart is stored only in your own browser. Order records are retained for as long as required for tax, consumer-law and tobacco age-verification purposes, then deleted.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep — email info@sydneycigarclub.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
